Picture
Rainbows have become a common sight in the UK, during the coronavirus epidemic, as people put up pictures of the stunning weather phenomenon in their windows, to ease an otherwise sombre mood.
Children have been responsible for drawing most of the rainbows, which symbolise the sun emerging amid a rainy backdrop. They ultimately serve as a reminder to stay positive, with several groups set up around the country, to keep the movement alive.
But how many people these days acknowledge, or even know, the truth behind the rainbow? Thousands of years ago, a rainbow filled the heavens after a catastrophic, global event. The entire world was covered by a flood and only a handful of humans survived: Noah and his family in the ark. When the water finally abated, God gave Noah a promise, that was meant for every living creature, and the rainbow was God’s sign that He would keep His promise.
This special promise is relevant for us now and gives us all hope in a world that is rife with problems. You can find more detailed information about God’s promise to Noah and how it relates to today, in the button below “The Rainbow Promise”. Please take your time to read the following information.
